In a nutshell, I'm a presenter and filmmaker who gets a massive buzz from connecting with people and in turn creating great film content. I started out knowing no-one in the industry. I knew the only thing I really wanted to do was to interview people and present. So I spent the past 6 years working in TV and production learning from some of the industry's greats. From camera assisting on various shows including The BBC One Show and Channel 4's Take Me Out to producing, editing and presenting content for brands like Nike and Samsung and interviewing artists for the likes of MTV and Fucking Young Magazine. I've been able to craft a dynamic set of skills which have enabled me to produce, edit, direct and host content for a range of platforms in a range of mediums. I have always been interested in digging out other people’s stories. Connecting with people in a unique way. That was where it started and that's ultimately what I hope all my content showcases.Locked Pro Plan feature
As a freelance camera assistant I regularly work alongside Phil Piotrowsky on the BBC One Show, assisting camera operators and ensuring delivery of the high quality live broadcast that the BBC is renowned for. Since the onset of my time at the One Show in May 2014, I have gained a valuable skill-set required when working both in front of and behind the lens.
My role as a filmmaker and presenter sees me devising treatment decks and creating orginal film content for brands and media platforms. With the ability to produce, direct, present and edit, my role in filmmaking is very immersive. Some weeks I'll make films that are structured around topical stories in the media, others I'll create content that is more focused around platforming a specific indivial through the use of my interviewing skills.
My work as a runner at ITV's This Morning initially began with the Fashion team before I became more involved in working in post production and finally found myself running for TLS. My role required me to be flexible adapting to the ever changing and fast pased environment. I also need to be reliable and aware of the tight turn arounds and tight schedules that we as a team needed to perform. Whilst this job was at times stressful and tiring, I found it maybe one of the most enjoyable periods of my career so far. I have huge passion for the industry and this was the real starting point. I learnt how to channel my energy and prioitise tasks, like with many jobs, using my inititive was extremely important.
2012- 2015 - Queen Mary University London: English Language and Linguistics - First Class Honours Degree Thesis - Pragmatic Analysis of GQ Magazine: My final dissertation, which was founded on an interview I held with Dylan Jones, researched the language change in GQ Magazine over the past twenty years, exploring how the man’s growing acceptance of fashion and grooming has led to an alteration in male directed discourse. The project verified the value of my ability to balance my degree with my work in the industry by synchronising the two.
