Hi! My name is Filipa, I'm a 2D Animator and Illustrator that works either digitally or traditionally.
I've graduated in 2019 from Cambridge School of Arts with a degree in lllustration and Animation. I'm about to start my Masters Degree at UAL in Character Animation, which I'm super excited about!
When animating, I usually use Animate, Photoshop or Procreate. I'm really into hand drawn animation that feels rough and that has a pencil like texture.
I'm very passionate about storytelling and characters (you can catch me binge watching shows any time because I'm a sucker for character development). And that's my goal with either animation or illustration, I want to be able to tell a story and create interesting and relatable characters that can convey any type of emotion to the viewer (hence choosing a master degree in character animation, to develop and deepen this skill).
Projects
- LayerProcess based animation, 2017. Selected to be screened at the "60 Seconds Or Less Video Festival" in 2018. Each frame of this short film uses photographic film, that was either scratched to let the light come through, or that has ink on top. It was edited in a layered way as to show the progress of the soundtrack getting more intense and louder, while synchronizing the frames with the beat.
