About me
I have recently graduated from a BA Design degree at Goldsmiths University of London. I’m Interested in socially focussed design projects that are accessible to all, prompting conversation on how design can help create a better future. My work interrogates systems and services, exploring transparent approach to design solutions, producing creative outputs from a mixture of technology and materials.

  • Addressing Continuous Cruisers
Addressing Continuous Cruisers‘Addressing Continuous Cruisers’ is my Goldsmith’s degree show project, which I was awarded a 1st for. I have designed a system that gives London’s Boaters the ability to have a fixed residential address anytime anywhere. My project ultimately aims to elevate London's growing houseboat community as legitimate home owners, giving them the tools to access social infrastructure and services conventional home owners may take for granted. By using a combination of technologies, I created a mobile

In 2017 I spent a month with GM Associates (GMA), a landscape design company in San Diego, California, run independently by George Mercer. He had an educational background in horticulture, therefore a large percentage of his work revolved around rejuvenating environments back to their native form, in partnership with the City and Coastal Commission. Mercer Associates were very active in the surrounding area as there were a lot of problems regarding illegal developments that break local rules and regulations. An example of one of the projects I worked on, was with a client called Doug Manchester, Donald Trump's ambassador for the Bahamas. He had just planted an entire forest illegally next to his golf course. It was our job, in connection with the city commission and Mr. Manchester, to develop a new plan that replaced the pine forest with native vegetation, so not to damage the local ecosystem.

     - Brion Pl, Poplar, London E14 0SP, UKInternship
In 2017 I spent time working with Public works, a small design collective/studio based in London, comprised of 7 or so individuals, each with varying interdisciplinary backgrounds from architecture to farming to engineering. The project I worked on, R-Urban, is one of four long running projects in partnership with local housing association Poplar HARCA, as part of a larger initiative Fashioning Poplar in East London. Public Works’ ethos as a critical design practice is to explore possibilities of enhancing this capacity for “urban resilience” within London. They looked to re-imagine how we can live and produce in more sustainable ways in our neighbourhoods through a co-authorship of resident-run facilities. The R-Urban site is a self-sustaining ensemble of facilities made from old shipping containers. These shipping containers were transformed into a teaching space for workshops, a tool station comprised of donated equipment from local companies and individuals. There was also an open kitchen which was powered by a small anaerobic digester, turning organic waste collected from the local community, into biogas for the kitchen and plant fertiliser for the vegetable garden. My role in this project was split between the construction of the the kitchen and helping lead and run regular free weekend workshops for the local community. The workshops that R-Urban hosted were focussed around the re-use of materials and other environmentally friendly approaches to living. The workshops I helped run included building Enzo Mari “autoproduccione” furniture out of scrap crates. We also had visiting artists giving workshops about the potential of various pigment extraction techniques from organic materials, and cooking workshops on how to make gnocchi from potatoes grown in the vegetable patch.
