About me
When I was little, I was always making things and loved to know how things were made. My favourite birthday present was a big box of crayons each shaped as a letter of the alphabet. All of those things are still true. Though now, I am a London based textile designer and maker specialising in woven textiles. I love the entire design process, I design responsively to each brief and I am able to effectively communicate my ideas, both visually and verbally. I am an RCA graduate, Haberdashers' Scholar and Clothworkers' Foundation awardee. My work has been featured in Selvedge magazine and has been exhibited in the British Museum in London as well as exhibitions in Mexico and China. My work is playful yet considered and I believe in design which brings joy and ease into our lives and without sounding trite, just makes the world a better place! To this end, I founded g00d habits, a clothes restoration and customisation initiative which exists to reduce textile waste by reminding people of the value of well-worn, damaged clothes and as an inspiration to keep and mend old clothes. I'm proficient using Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I am also skilled in Fabric Construction and Selection, Colour Theory and Print Design. I possess strong organisational and administrative skills due to previous project management experience. Time working in luxury fashion houses has given me knowledge of the fashion industry and experience in an antique textiles gallery has afforded me an excellent knowledge of constructed and embellished textiles and their historical contexts. I'm inquisitive, I love learning new things and always approach things with a sense of fun!

  • Reimagining Xiabu
Reimagining XiabuA brief set by the China Design Centre to reimagine a traditional woven cloth using traditional techniques. ‘Xia’ means summer - a reference to the connection Xiabu cloth has with nature and the seasons. I have always been interested in Chinese philosophy, in particular, theories relating to the elements and nature so I wanted my exploration and reinvention of Xiabu to reflect it’s rich cultural history and relationship to nature. This directed my research toward the I Ching or Yi Jing ‘bo
