I have an enormous film photography experience as I’ve been a vivid photographer for the last 8 years shooting in 35mm and medium format (6x6, 6x7 and 6x45; I own a Mamiya 645 myself). Is been around 3 years I decided to go professional and because of that I enrole myself in many courses in Barcelona as the ‘Professional Photographer’ course at IDEP where I got to learn more about digital - fashion/product studio photography and a ‘Documentary Photography’ course at El Observatorio where I had the chance to develop my own personal project throughout 1 year. Along this years I pretty much taught myself and learned through experience. This past years I had the chance to be the assistant of a few photographers in fashion shoots, but I think it's time to progress into learning more about lightning and studio-based work, which I think I could do while working as a Junior/Photographic Assistant. For the last years in Barcelona I have been doing only fashion/portrait and still life commissioned work. Reception-Front of house - PA - Photographer As a photographer, I actively collaborated with Vice and i-D, taking photos for social media any time was required and also offering photo stories for the Vice digital magazine. Main Tasks included: ⁕ Liaising with clients and providing other daily support to staff as needed. Arranging meetings and conference calls. Drafting correspondence and presentations. Organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments. Resolution of complaints and enquiries. ⁕ Managing & ordering supplies and ensuring that costs are appropriately managed. Maintaining office facilities and equipment by assisting with procurement and routine maintenance and upkeep. ⁕ Developing and maintaining various financial databases and reports. ⁕ Preparing and attending meetings ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings. ⁕ Organising travel and accommodation for the video, sales and production staff and solving any problems related to those trips. ⁕ Assisting the Executive Director with his daily schedule and duties, managing his calendar, commitments, and travel arrangements (planning itineraries, developing agendas and meeting materials, reporting expenses, etc).
Studio Assistant / Editor I was in charge of receiving all files / photos while Íñigo was traveling, taking on his commissions. Tasks Include: ⁕ Backing-up files, copying them to different discs, editing them with Photoshop and Lightroom then re-sending them for his approval. ⁕ Upload the files on Iñigo’s website. ⁕ Replying to clients who contacted him with all kinds of demands for either editorial or commercial work, giving budget when needed. ⁕ Daily web research (archdaily.com, etc) about new or interesting archichectural work/projects in countries around the world to organise photo trips. Contact the architects of the projects. Organising travel, routes, accommodation and scouting locations. Assisting on photo shooting. ⁕ Organising Íñigo’s analog file. Tasks included re-scanning medium and large format negatives, then processing and editing them. They were used to re-edit his book on documentary photography ⁕ Re-editing his book and rebuilt it in in-Design; he gave me complete freedom to do this.
