About me

Coming from my Guinean - Bissau household I really learned to love yarns and traditional clothes. I am inspired by Mandjak fabric which is a traditional weaved blanket. It's something I’d like to continue creating but with my own signature and design. I'm an ambitious and hardworking Knitwear Designer with a keen eye for shapes, textures and details which sways into elevating my knitwear techniques and adding new looks that anyone would be comfortable wearing daily.   TribalThis project was inspired by architecture but African themed. I explored through modern buildings and traditional African buildings, this helped me bring texture and pattern into my knits. I was also really inspired by Laduma Ngxokzolo’s work.

  TexturedI named this project Textured, focused my primary research on my sister’s hives from her allergies also things that looked like it. I focused on the patterns and textures. For my secondary research, I looked into poisonous animals as there were similarities in the patterns and I loved how bright they were.
