In my various roles at Thunderbird Releasing (FKA Soda Pictures), my duties included:
• Acquiring films for distribution in the UK and Canada, negotiating terms, drafting and executing contracts.
• Sourcing and evaluating projects for development, production, and acquisition.
• Developing projects, providing feedback to producers on scripts and edits.
• Line-managing and training Acquisitions Executives and interns.
• Achieving international sales and festival screenings for titles represented by Soda Pictures International.
• Representing the company at international festivals and markets including participating in panels, workshops and presentations, and hosting Q&As.
• Securing distribution funding, writing applications including preparing release budgets, target forecasts and release proposals. As well as managing budgets during release and submitting final reports.
• Briefing and developing key creative with various print, AV and digital agencies.
• Running a successful crowdfunding campaign to raise production funds for the film, By Our Selves.
• Planning and managing social media campaigns.
• Coordinating schedules for film markets and festivals.
• Book-keeping, accounts payable and credit control for the company.
• Working on the digitisation and launch of Shortwave Cinema in London.
• Managing programming contracts for Shortwave Cinema, Arnolfini Cinema in Bristol and Quay Arts Centre on the Isle of Wight.
