About me
A Fashion graduate with a 2:1, my goal is a career in Fashion or Fashion Media as Press Office/PR Assistant or similar. As a consequence I have sought out and completed relevant internships, in particular I have had 4 busy weeks as a Press Office Intern at Dune London and have spent time at Heat, Oasis and You and Your Wedding Magazine. I am currently working as a Press Office Assistant at River Island.
My degree enabled me to express my creativity and gave me experience of the fashion industry. I had to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as operating confidently within a team. A highlight of my degree was receiving a 1st for my final year dissertation, which answered the question ‘Has the recent growth in digital technologies and social media platforms changed the accepted hierarchies in fashion media?’. I researched extensively Vogue, Blogging and Tommy Hilfiger’s recent catwalk collections and concluded that digital now plays a significant role within fashion media, but that innovative magazines can still retain their popularity.
My relevant skills are:-
• I have experience as a Press Office Assistant. Key aspects of this role being managing samples, reviewing media coverage and providing administrative support to the Press Officers.
• Retail experience.
• I am an advanced user in all aspects of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

Education
BAThe University of East London
- London, United Kingdom
I studied Fashion Textiles at The University of East London where I graduated with a high 2:1. During my time at UEL, I undertook many projects which enabled me to work well under pressure as well as with a team. I was particularly proud of my final year dissertation, for which I received a 1st, where I discussed the rise of online media and the pressures it has put on printed publications.
Foundation Diploma in Art and DesignThe University of East London
- London, United Kingdom
I completed a year foundation at the University of East London. During the year I completed work in different areas including woodwork, print, photography lab and finally fashion where I specialised. This year taught me how to be organised and to work independently with my time. It helped me to progress into my first year.
