About me

Hello there! I'm Francesca McGowan, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. Currently, I am working as a MA Studio Assistant at UAL, where I get to immerse myself in the vibrant world of art and creativity every day. Before joining UAL, I had the incredible opportunity to work as an Assistant Curator at prestigious locations such as OXO Tower: Bargehouse and Southwark Park Galleries. These experiences allowed me to develop a keen eye for artistic curation and sharpen my ability to showcase diverse and thought-provoking exhibitions. In addition to my curatorial work, I also have a solid background as a Gallery Coordinator for Ronnie Wood and as an Exhibitions Assistant for Saatchi and Saatchi. These roles have given me valuable insights into the inner workings of the art industry and exposed me to a wide range of artistic styles and practices. One of my strengths lies in project management and scheduling. I am well-versed in coordinating complex tasks, ensuring smooth operations, and meeting deadlines. My organizational skills and attention to detail have been honed through my previous experiences, allowing me to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. As a confident and outgoing individual, I thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with artists, fellow colleagues, and visitors. Being a people person, I find great joy in connecting with others and creating meaningful experiences within the art community. I believe that fostering strong relationships is crucial in cultivating a supportive and inspiring creative environment. I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my skill set and learn new things.
