Words shape our world. They have the power to inspire, to educate, to heal, to humble, and have an impact on all aspects of our daily lives. The human capacity to communicate through language is a privilege and a gift.
I fell in love with words and stories before I knew how to write. I would sit in my room filling the pages of my notebook with scribbles that only I could understand. These early imaginings paved the way for the many poems, stories and plays I wrote during childhood and eventually my first book.
Now, as the author of three young adult novels, my goal is to share my passion for words and stories with others. Early in 2023, I founded the Untold Stories Academy, a business through which I run creative writing workshops and offer editing and mentoring support to writers of all ages and abilities. My mission is to inspire my students and clients to unlock their imaginations and harness the power of the written word.
The writers I work with often need help in three main areas:
• Learning to create images in their mind and translate them onto the page.
• Finding the confidence to start and finish a book.
• Finding the motivation and dedication to get their work over the finish line.
The Untold Stories Academy grew out of my experience running creative writing workshops in schools and working as a freelance editor. Having worked with both children and adults, I decided to bring my passion and experience together to form the Academy.
Alongside running the academy and writing books, I work as a freelance editor, content writer and English tutor. Words shape all aspects of my career and the passion for language that existed in me from the start still fuels me in everything I do.
