About me
Frank Lopez is a new arrival to the UK having worked for 14+ years in the television industry in New York City. Prior to relocating, he was the in-house Technical Manager at a production company focused on documentary and unscripted programming. There he managed the company’s portfolio of video and photographic equipment, worked directly with productions crews to deliver on set solutions, and provided technical guidance and support. Frank is passionate about supporting film-makers and helping them overcome technical challenges. He is also interested in how advances in video technology can make visual storytelling more accessible allowing individuals from different backgrounds to take a leap into the medium. Frank is excited for the opportunity to work with students and help them achieve their creative vision. Frank works on the BA Creative Arts and Humanities programme.
Projects
  • If You Could Eat Anywhere (Series)
If You Could Eat Anywhere (Series)I worked as a videographer for an original web series where host Allie talks to local artists at their favorite NYC restaurants. The series was self funded and had limited resources so I was tasked with running video and sound. I had to coach a volunteer in b camera operating.
  • The Circus (Showtime)
The Circus (Showtime)I was technical manager on this series for 8 seasons. I kitted out 4 main crews and several small units operating simultaneously around the United States. The crews followed rapidly developing news stories so I was on standby to prepare a kit for a field with little notice.
