BA (Hons) Architecture - First ClassOxford Brookes

Following a year of study under the brief ‘Participatory Democracy’, designing in response to urban issues ongoing in Nicosia, with Brookes Unit D, I am a sole believer that being involved with individuals and communities on a personal level, in order to come up with appropriate design solutions, is essential. Combined with experience in a more conceptual and hands on approach to design, as exercised in my final year under the brief ‘Performative Construct’, with Brookes Unit A, I have interpreted the design process as a culmination of client requirements, resolving outstanding issues, and the creation and control of quality experience within space.
Successfully implementing these two different approaches, I was able to curate design projects that had value and meaning in their given context and in response to ongoing social issues, with rich, conceptual thinking. This was recognised in comments made at my final submission and end of year show, and subsequently lead to my third year portfolio being awarded the Doric Club Oxford Prize - ‘best portfolio showing progress through third year’.
