Freddy Billowes is a Creative Technologist at Particle Studio with a degree in Product Design from Brunel University. He has a keen eye for programming, electronics and sculptural art and likes to merge conceptual and technical design in his work.
His eclectic nature stems from a love for materials, processes and the desire to continually learn new information.
His work pushes the boundaries of what's practically conceivable in a human centred way. The most current example of this is a device he has coded and designed that translates speech into a different sense to allow those who are hard of hearing to understand what is being said around them, without the sense of sound.
He has worked for and consulted with a number of different artists, helping turn their visions into visceral experiences.

Having found significant flaws with existing products and considerable promise in the proposed design from Freddy's degree studies, he set up Re(Sound) Touch with the aim of turning his research and design into a commercially successful business and product offering.
During this process the work has been displayed at numerous exhibitions, including one with the NHS.
