About me

Frederico Pompeu is an illustrator, designer and portrait artist based in Lisbon. He finished a Master's Degree in Design followed by an Advanced Studies Degree in Cultural Studies (with a focus on the history of the book as a cultural artefact). Previous clients include Maat, Diário de Notícias, Jornal de Letras and Porto Business School.

  Fluid MarginIllustrated book cover for a poetry book.

  The Book of RiddlesA short poetry book with filled with incisive short pieces. The illustrations were developed in order to match the simple (yet impactful) messages.

  A Mozambican TaleSet in Mozambique, this is the tale of a girl that finds a speaking coconut shell that speaks more than it should. All of the illustrations were drawn digitally on Procreate, and later mixed with hand-drawn textures that were scanned for this purpose.

  Solar do Alambique GuesthouseI've developed these seasonal illustrations for Super. Brand Consultants. The client was a guesthouse in the countryside, so the focus was the local flora and fauna and the passing of the seasons. These were created along all their branding process, as an integrant part of it.
• Diário de Notícias - PortraitsSeries of portraits of the writers of Diário de Notícias (a Portuguese newspaper).
• Portraits of BoysI started making this project for no good reason. I kept at it until I had a bunch of portraits, but I consider it as an on-going series, that keeps getting new work added to it.
