  PAPER PROJECTINSPIRED BY CHINESE PAPER-CUTTING TECHNIQUES, I DEVELOPED SAMPLES BY CUTTING AWAY AT PAPER TRANSFORMING THE 2D PAPER INTO A 3D TEXTURE TO CREATE MY PAPER GARMENT.

  ARCHIVE PROJECTTHIS PROJECT WAS BASED ON AN ARCHIVE PIECE OWNED BY MY LATE GRANDFATHER WHO WAS A LIEUTENANT IN THE ROYAL NAVY. IT WAS BROUGHT IN NORTH EAST CHINA IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY DURING WHICH MY GRANDFATHER WAS BASED THERE WITH THE NAVY ALONG WITH MY GRANDMOTHER. THIS LEAD MY RESEARCH INTO TRADITIONAL CHINESE, MILITARY AND CONTEMPORARY WORKWEAR CLOTHING WITH GRAPHIC PRINT DESIGN.

  REDRESSFOR THIS UP-CYCLE PROJECT, I HAVE USED SECOND-HAND MILITARY SURPLUS CLOTHING AND TAILORED SUIT JACKETS TO CREATE A FULLY UP-CYCLED CONTEMPORARY MENSWEAR COLLECTION.

My role as a Studio Intern was to help keep the studio clean and organised, to alter and prepare patterns for production and to assist with collection shoots as well as research, fabric cutting, out of studio errands. taking fitting notes and digital design work. I was also fortunate to be apart of Milan fashion week with the brand showcasing their SS23 collection where I helped with finishes to garments, dressing models for fittings and the catwalk show.

For this role I assisted with the design of new pieces for e-commerce, digital design such as print and website layout, sketching, toiling, creating patterns and technical drawings. I researched for upcoming collections, sourced fabrics, and potential collaborations and enjoyed building mood boards for inspiration.
