Hey there, I’m Gabrielle but prefer Gabbi, I’m a writer and have experience in both music writing and games writing. I have more experience in writing about music than I do writing about games but I want to change that, I’ve always loved playing games as I was brought up playing the PlayStation One and that’s where the love for gaming started and has been a part of my life ever since. As I have mentioned I have written about music such as reviews, opinions, interviews and other articles relating to music, in May I will have finished my degree of Popular Music Journalism. Over the three years of studying I have found an interest in design, I have designed magazines, websites and have become to be intrigued by illustration. Especially typography. So if you want anything designed like a logo, poster, a magazine or just want me to make a website, holla at me and we can discuss a project. I dream career would be to write about games for a living, especially creating game guides and also design. If you want to be a part of my career building and give me the chance to write for you, design for you and play games with you then get in contact with me at firstname.lastname@example.org Some (fun) facts… Games I play: • The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim • Fallout 4 • The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt • Metal Gear Solid series Bands/Artists I listen to: • The Veronicas • Dustin Tebbutt • Roo Panes • High Highs • Streets of Laredo I’m also a fan of Simon’s Cat animations!Locked Pro Plan feature
Currently started writing for Gamer Laughs where I write game articles that are then to be shared on their website. I work to a deadline and a word count. From writing for Gamer Laughs I hope to improve my skills as a writer and to make a career from writing about games. As I have experience in writing about music it has given me understanding of how to write in a structured way.

Mind charity had advertised for some writers to review a selection of pieces that had been written by people who have experienced mental health issues such as Anti-Depressants and Depression and other mental health related issues. I applied to review the writing as I have experience with reviewing music at this current time and got the position, this was a one time job. I had looked at the booklet of information regarding Anti-depressants and Depression and made notes that were constructive and explained why parts were good. I also gave my personal experience with this topic. For the reviewing I did I was paid £25 and the booklet was posted online. You can view the booklet online here: http://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/drugs-and-treatments/antidepressants/#.WHZk0vmLTIV
With this project I was the web designer alongside another designer to create Hella 90's Music. This was created to be an online magazine which focused on 90's music and creating nostalgia. As the main web designer I created the background which represented the 90's era bright colours and weird shapes. Using Illustrator for creating the background and other illustrations sharpened my skills and which I have continued to develop today. As for the website itself it was important to keep the consistency throughout the design which reflected the 90's era, ugly colours, bubble font and anything else that would have represented this time. http://hella90smusic.wixsite.com/hella90smusic
In this project I was apart of a team that created an EPK video for a band Southampton band called Elixir. Each of us had job roles and the job I had was the cinematographer, I was able to give my ideas of where to shoot the video, what lighting to be involved and the order of shots. I had some of the footage in gray-scale to highlight the name of their EP 'Black...and White', this was when we did an interview about the process of creating their EP. Other shots were taken when we went to one the band's gig where I enhanced the lighting from the strobes, to have more a psychedelic touch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhErqposCB8
Alongside another magazine designer I designed pages that would be suitable for the content that was being produced, this was a short term project where I learnt Adobe InDesign in-depth. I learnt about colour schemes and fonts that would suit the nature of the music magazine. I also created illustrations for the magazine such as the logo and because it was about American music and UK music I created headphones that portrayed this.
