    The Digital & Communications Manager Role was new to KCLSU in 2017 and was part of the creation of a Digital Team to support digital marketing via improving our website, social media presence and direct mailing. In this role, I managed a small team who were directly responsible for these areas alongside photography, videography and some aspects of research. During our time we pushed to improve the consistency, quality and focus of our social content and also worked to vastly improve the websites front and back end. In their first two years, the team Achieved - Increased number of users on the website by 17% - Improved the website load speed and made the site fully mobile responsive - Increased social media impressions by over 870,000 - More than doubled the number of click-throughs on social media posts - Improved the email open rate - reaching as high as 85% on a list of 14,000+ contacts - Managed to increase the average open rate on our weekly update emails from 18% - 27%

    In the absence of both the Head of Marketing and Communications and The Director of Communications and Campaigns, I had the opportunity to step up into the role of Co-Head of Marketing and Communications. Alongside my Duties and Digital and Communications Manager, I was to handle the budgeting process and then later act as marketing lead on the biggest event of the year; Welcome Fair. Extra Responsibilities - Providing direction for a department in which 50% of the staff were recently recruited. - Creating the organisational Marketing budget and creating an activity calendar for all departments for the year. - Preparing marketing for the biggest event of the year (Welcome Fair). - Co-Leading the department through structural change to the teams. - Creating job descriptions for new functional roles within the department. Achievements - Agreed on the 2017-18 Marketing budget for KCLSU. - Over 9000 students attended the Welcome Fair over two days - 70% increase in Facebook Engagements around Welcome Fair from the same period last year. - I created two new roles for a digital-focused team
