Having completed his higher education in 2004, George began his financial career at Refco, obtaining priceless trading and analyst experience in financial derivatives. His career path led him to perform as a market analyst amidst the most challenging trading conditions in history caused by the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) in 2007-09.
Throughout his financial career, George has contributed articles and editorial opinion pieces to multiple print and online publications worldwide – covering various topics, including trading, economics, politics and current affairs. His understanding of the financial arena and insightful market commentary has helped thousands of investors attain an edge in today's highly volatile and seemingly unpredictable markets.
In 2011 and 2012, George spoke at length at various lectures, seminars and in his regular market commentary about the dangers of excessive risk-taking in currency markets. He forewarned leading FX industry participants – including the company he was working for at the time (Alpari UK) – of the dangers posed by central banks conducting artificial currency interventions. His analysis and concerns were overlooked while the vulnerabilities he identified were not remedied -- thereby contributing to the infamous "Black Swan" event on 15 January 2015 that led to the collapse of Alpari UK and several other retail brokers.
In 2011, George was voted '30th Most Influential Person in the FX/CFD Industry' by 'The Exchange' magazine.
George has attained over a decade's experience in Investor, Media and Public relations with a proven track record of raising company exposure and valuation. He has produced engaging content covering Australian, Canadian, British, European and US-listed companies, writing about macroeconomics, mining, commodities, oil, metals, equity, and bond markets while being published in over 20 publications.
He's delved into a diverse range of poignant themes currently shaping modern cultures such as the Catalan independence movement, gene editing, Covid-19, vaccines, identity politics, 3D printing, technocrats, monopolies, online privacy, herd behaviour, medicinal cannabis, hemp, IPOs, cryptocurrencies, blockchain, e-commerce, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, 5G, automation, roundtable groups, human intelligence and cosmology...
...while also addressing some lighthearted topics such as psychedelics, stock forums, eSports, electric cars, VR headsets, dodgy FX companies, Brexit, corporate culture, the meaning of Love and how to sell a house.
George’s approach to market analysis stems from his natural analytical ability combined with apt scepticism of market consensus that fails to acknowledge or question the dysfunctional and illusory dynamics of financial markets.
Moreover, he wields an acutely candid and vociferous writing style, which, despite occasionally sparking consternation and cognitive dissonance amongst reprobates, astutely identifies value and assists in delivering dynamic solutions and results.
George sees issues such as fractional reserve banking, market manipulation, corruption, regulatory failure, market collusion and centralisation in most industries as gateways to understanding the interconnected holistic nature of the financial arena, and society as a whole.
He's been described as a "didactic dazzler scribing pro bona fide in the wild" following his nexus of astonishing revelations on a broad range of subjects spanning both the physical and metaphysical domains, including economics, politics, history, current affairs, philosophy, epistemology, deontology, psychology, morality, syncretism and Natural Law.
