I gained three weeks’ work experience where I furthered my knowledge in luxury retail, as well as working in a city that is not familiar to me. I spent time dealing with high profile clientele, as well as exercising my ability to use software’s such as Fashion GPS, UPS, Fedex and more, creating and scheduling important shipments. I was also able to choose appropriate shoes for clients, by understanding their style.
I learnt vast amounts of customer importance and luxury branding, as well as the different aspects of the business. I was asked to return in February 2017 to work at the show, which was very fast paced; I had to be decisive and highly organised. I also dealt with high profile clientele so I understood the importance of providing excellent customer service and learning how the show was organised. I learnt how to use databases such as Fashion GPS and book couriers and shipments for important clients.
