About me

Hi my name is Giona, I am a designer, entrepreneur, and social innovator passionate about sustainable development and environmental education. Passionate about design and craftsmanship I have I have studied product design and architecture and am a talented maker that likes to prototype ideas, manufacture products, models and props, and fix things. Through my career I have worked as product developer, as production designer on the set of two music videos, and as interior designer for several projects. From undertaking several positions organising, designing and delivering workshops, I have developed a wide skill-set that allows me to facilitate workshops, host events and liaise with all parties involved in the project. After completing studies in sustainable development and social entrepreneurship I found a true passion in social innovation and working with a diverse range of people to help discover and achieve their goals. As a social entrepreneur, I’m committed to inclusive social change and expert in co-design and co-production projects. I have set up Better Fabrics, a social enterprise that manufactures upcycled products from second-hand material and waste. Check my website to know more.

  Ethically manufactured upcycled handbagsTruly sustainable and ethically manufactured our handbags are an example of how circular economy and social innovation work. We have established parnterships with local cafes in Deptford to collect Tetra Paks. Together with donatd clotehs we package these beautiful bags upcycling material that would otherwise go to landfill.
