Hi! I'm Giulia, a freelance digital video producer and journalist working for ITN Productions and The Independent, after an amazing 4-month internship with the digital video team at CNN.
My passion is to find interesting stories behind the headlines, that allows me to go out and shoot! Something I'm really proud of is a short doc I filmed in Senegal about a group of women using renewable energy to fight desertification and food poverty, while at the same time reversing the traditional female roles in the area. My videos and pictures have been published by Al Jazeera English along with an article.
My goal this year is to move from an office news environment to the field, to find unusual and engaging stories and characters, to grab a camera and to follow the production of a video in every step, from research to post.
I'm interested in telling human stories, those especially related to gender, inequality, and creativity. I'm also drawn to tell stories about climate change, migration, but also to more light-hearted topics such as music, art and travel.

- Senegalese women tackling desertification with eco technologyCarlotta Dotto and I went to Senegal as part of the One World Media Production Fund to film the daily lives of these women in the North-Eastern part of the country. Due to climate change, the rainy season is becoming shorter every year, and lots of men emigrated in search of a better life. But these women remained, and thanks to solar energy, they managed to save money and water to irrigate their fields.
