JLPT N2Japanese Language Proficiency Test
The JLPT ('Japanese Language Proficiency Test') is the highly globally recognised qualification in the Japanese language, ranging from a level 5 (basic Japanese) to level 1 (classical, poetic Japanese). Level 2 defines the level of Japanese whereby one can read a newspaper comfortably, and live in Japan with no linguistic difficulties. I sat this in Japan during my year abroad and passed with close to full marks.
