        • Kansas Smitty’s is a six-nights-a-week music venue, and management bookings agency. This role has taken me into every aspect of the business from producing events and booking artists, to running marketing campaigns and releasing records. - Event production. Delivering large scale events produced with or for companies and brands such as The Arts Society, Radio 3, Cheltenham Festivals, Vaults Festival, The Goodlife Experience, Reyka, Maker’s Mark and Reebok. - I am efficient and effective in both stage management and production roles on site, constantly problem solving and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction at all times. I create and issue highly detailed production schedules and produce analytics that gauge results after events. - Strategic curation and programming of musicians, bands and performers for public and private events, securing artists such as Louis Cole, Kori Withers, Bruno Major and Joe Stilgoe. This drives ticket sales and builds brand profile. - Artist liaison. I handle all artist relations, including advancing of technical specifications and hospitality riders, and issuing of relevant paperwork. With me as main point of contact, shows run smoothly and there are clear channels of communication between artist and venue. - Tour management of Kansas Smitty’s House Band at national and international shows including advancing, tour planning, and liaising with venues, promotors and ticket holders. I adapt easily to the challenges of tour management, and am resilient and resourceful when dealing with the sometimes unpredictable nature of touring. - Ownership of main Kansas Smitty’s inbox. I field a high volume of varied enquiries in a timely yet personal manner, which has led to the expansion of a loyal fan base of repeat customers. - Management and operation of table booking software, dealing directly with customer enquiries to find solutions. I recognised a need to implement a bookings system, and being able to charge for bookings nets the venue up to £1000 extra revenue each weekend. - Space management. Juggling a varied venue schedule, balancing our live programme with recording sessions, rehearsals, private hires and video shoots. This avoids costly and unprofessional diary clashes. - Copywriting for our website and social media channels. I have very strong written communication skills and write event copy, artist biographies and venue blurb which drives readers to take action. - Record production and distribution. Creating vinyl, CD and other merchandise from conception to delivery, ensuring meta-data is highly accurate and maintaining key relationships with labels and distribution partners. - Marketing. I write compelling press releases and other promotional materials, draw up release schedules, oversee recording sessions and create effective, results-driven marketing materials with our marketing manager and photographers.

        2019

        Apr 2019 - Sep 2019
        • London, United Kingdom
        • Full Time
        • The Five Points Brewing Company is the largest independent brewery in London, with a presence both across the capital, the UK and Europe. In this role I was responsible for managing all events in the brewery’s calendar including conception, build, service and break down. - Events management. I was responsible for the successful planning and execution of the busy events calendar across the summer season, including managing the brewery’s presence at beer festivals, music festivals, tap takeovers, markets and events at the taproom, the Pembury Tavern. I completed projects to budget and was responsible for the end-to-end production of these events, for example drawing up risk assessments, liaising with venues, logistical planning, creative bar design, service, and packdown. I worked closely with other internal departments including marketing, logistics and the sales team to ensure we made maximum impact. - Brand ambassador. Acting as Five Points’ representative at these events, managing our brand presence and building strong relationships with both the public and industry contacts. This included travelling across the country to attend a variety of events, creating a strong rapport with customers, and strategically networking with other breweries, suppliers and members of the on-trade. - Bar management. Coordinating staff requirements, including training and creation of rotas. I was responsible for the efficient load in, bar build, drinks service and load out of a vast range of different bar types, from a shared brewery stand with two taps, to a dedicated vault within London Craft Beer Festival. Under my management, these bars ran smoothly, safely and delivered a high quality product to the customer. - Taking ownership of the London Brewer’s Market brand. This is Five Point’s own brewer’s market, showcasing the best that the London brewing scene has to offer. I was responsible for coordinating and managing markets of at least ten brewery stands, at venues such as Mighty Hoopla/Cross the Tracks Festival and Coal Drop’s Yard. I ensured all parties had a positive experience, from the venue to the guest breweries, from staff to customers. - I managed equipment and wet stock, including ordering extra kit and sourcing hire where necessary. I built relationships with hire companies in order to secure the best deals for the company, and created exhaustive checklists to ensure we had everything we needed when arriving on site. Duties also included organising kit maintenance and booking dispense technicians as required. All equipment was kept to a high standard and therefore the beer was consistently delivered as fresh as possible to the consumer. - Post-event evaluation. I delivered in-depth analysis, reports and debriefs in order to inform the company’s decisions for future events planning. This ensured the cost-effective running of the events department and the effective management of budgets.
