    Founder & CEOVoltrics Ltd.
    Birmingham, United KingdomFull Time
Voltrics is developing and launching a range of innovative, dynamic connectors. Voltrics first market offering is Slip-Sphere, a dynamic multi-axis electrical joint that is integrated at the core deformation of a cable harness, eliminating localized mechanical work hardening and systemically increasing cable harness reliability. Slip-Sphere is to be introduced to electronic component and robotics industries enabling new electronic systems to be developed and innovative robotic structures to be created with uniquely flexible mechanical characteristics that are not currently possible with existing systems. The skills I have learnt over the last four years through grit and determination, possibly the most valuable skills I have learnt as a designer.

    Development EngineerModus Furniture
     - Chard, United KingdomFull Time
Modus Furniture works with a host of talented designers from around world to produce exceptional high-end furniture. My role as a development engineer is to refine, rework and adapt the key product ranges ready for manufacture. This includes remodelling and assessing the original CAD models to ensure tolerances have been allowed for and that key design features are manufacturable. I work closely with production and manufacturing from preparing 3-axis CNC files on AutoCAD to reviewing the design and programming strategies of 5-axis CNC parts, which has giving me exposure to 5-axis CNC programming. I’ve also been involved in preparing detailed BOM’s and assessing specific products’ cost centres to improve profitability of these key product lines. This has included sourcing new fixing methods, reviewing the production process and ultimately adapting the design to aid production. Having recently successfully completed my probationary period, as a result of a down-turn in the economy due to COVID-19, I have been put at risk of redundancy and am now seeking a more secure position. Selected Achievements: - Enabled two key product lines to be manufacturable in-house, improving profitability. - Sourced a novel fixing method to reduce production time and cost of another key product line. - Heavily involved in integrating the novel fixing method to aid production. - 4-Day Introductory training for B_Solid Software by BIESSE - Essential Autodesk Inventor - Certificate Awarded - Advanced Autodesk Inventor – Certificate Awarded

BA (hons) 2:1 Industrial Design and TechnologyLoughborough University
    Loughborough, United Kingdom
A four-year degree including a third-year industrial placement. In my 3rd year I undertook the Diploma in Professional Studies when I worked for Woodworm Hockey and I completed a dissertation entitled The Use of Composite Materials in Sports Equipment. In my final year I achieved firsts for both my major design project (Bicycle couriers Bag) and dissertation (The Domestic Use of Grey Water). I developed my sketching, CAD and prototyping and an under-standing of the design process.
