About me
Gvidas Pakarklis is a Lithuanian illustrator and printmaker, currently based in Lithuania. -- He mostly works within editorial and sequential narrative fields. Gvidas draws inspiration from alchemical emblems and ancient art expressions to visually approach modern issues, relating to environmental, technological or social contexts.     Wunderkammer magazine: Mundum de Oxygeni‘The unpredictability of the future has always stimulated our curiosity. In a post global warming future, air becomes unbreathable. Oxygen is socially commoditized, consumed on a daily basis and mythologized as a sacred entity.’ A piece I did for the Wunderkammer 2020 catalogue showcasing work from all graduating students of the year as well as some of alumni work on Illustration (BA) course at Falmouth University.     The Promise: May Chloris bless YouA written and illustrated comic for a collaborative webcomic platform - 'The Promise', showcasing a variety of students work from Falmouth University. The platform was set up and curated by Hugh Frost. The story of the comic is set in the near future and revolves around the main character - Pierrot. He is a priest of one of the temples, where trees are worshipped. The soundtrack for the comic was created in collaboration with Celia Croft. Read the comic together with the soundtrack alongside
