Hi, I’m Hannah an industrious and innovative textiles designer with years of experience working across knit, weave and print. My main aim is to create interesting and problem-solving textiles with a purpose. I have a great interest in interiors and love creating new and unique uses for knitting in both interiors and fashion.
This is a little bit about me ⬇️
After spending 2+ years in the beauty industry, I felt my creativity dwindle. As a way to express my creativity, I applied to Edinburgh College’s ULA level 3 art and design course. This experience opens my eyes to the creative industry and I took the plunged and applied to Heriot-Watt design for the textile program and I have not looked back.
Since then I have:
+ Graduated from university with a first-class degree throughout which I have worked on projects with brands such as Barrie Knitwear, Donna Wilson and MYB textiles.
+ My knitting has been awarded ‘Most Innovative Use of Textile Design Practice’ by The Incorporation of Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Edinburgh.
+ I was featured in Craft Scotlands article on New Talent: Creating the Future of Craft.
+ I now have 4+ years of customer-facing experience which has gained me many transferrable soft skills, which I can now take forward into my design career.
+ I’ve created a variety of projects each with a different aesthetic from commercially viable designs to more explorative and creative pieces.
+ Developed my CAD skills (particularly Illustrator) and now have an interest in create digital patterns and graphics.
+ Worked at a summer camp in America (Bucks Rock Creative and Performing Arts Camp) where I gained valuable skills and had an experience I will treasure forever.
Feel free to message me I’d love to have a chat, or alternatively, you can find me on Instagram.
