Production CoordinatorHelene Berman
London, United KingdomFull Time
Production Co-ordinator
As the Production Co-ordinator I am involved in the process from initial development and design meetings all the way through to final production status. I have 5 years and 8 months experience in production; with my previous employer being a leading supplier to the high street as below. My current role is extremely niche; the brand is Helene Berman and we sell our designs as branded goods to clients such as Anthropologie UK/US, QVC, Trilogy / Denim Wardrobe for John Lewis, ASOS, Nordstrom, JD Williams, Fenwick Bond street and many more. we produce Outerwear (Coats and Jackets) and Hats. We also do a small amount of Homeware including fur cushions and throws for John Lewis and Feather and Black.
• Solely manage two UK factories based in East London and one in North London, as all product is ‘Made in Britain’
• Manage and create trims, linings and fabrics orders for each client ensuring they are cost effective and arrive within a
timely manner.
• Inputting all data once orders are confirmed into a Critical path (including all information for 15 clients)
• Ensuring all PO information is correct - prices, quantity and delivery date.
• I ensure fabric orders arrive on time within the production dates, keeping an inventory of all fabric data as we use a
storage facility when the Factory hasn’t got space to store fabrics for production.
• Monitoring stock levels of fabric, ensuring there is always enough to fulfil an order.
• Communication with our factories daily is key - critical path management to ensure deadlines are met.
• Creating weekly production dockets for the factory which are signed off with the Managing Director. Dockets must have
meticulous details on them for the factory to follow such as images, fabric swatches, correct client PO numbers, order quantity, trims, linings, fabrics, fabric costing, lining costing, correct wash-care and labelling, including fabric technical sheets from the correct fabric mill. I also ensure each pattern is correct and measurements for bulk are in line with the measurements from Pre-Production or if any changes to production have been made. I am extremely responsible for these dockets and must have great attention to detail, going through each docket with care and precision.
• Weekly production meetings with the team; including a weekly status from the factory including Marker dates, cut dates, machine dates and finishing to ensure the logistics team can deliver their goods to the clients within their delivery windows.
• Weekly QC’s at the factory arranged with our Quality control manager, ensuring products adhere to the required standards.
• Continuous problem solving
• Timely management of daily administration inputting as well as having to sign off production dockets with the MD
every week.
• Attended a training session with Zedonk. Limited use of the programme, used for processing hat orders which is
around 20% of the business. Easily adaptable to working with new programmes. • Attend Premiere Classe in Paris for selling of hats twice a year and show our ranges in New York in February / June (I will be attending in February 2019)
