I am a London based artist teacher and researcher specialising in digital and analogue photography and alternative photographic processes. My own practice focuses on people, the presence of people, spaces, location and a connection to the environment. My research is influenced on a deeper understanding of observation and awareness of ourselves and our surroundings, ideas of matter with meaning, embodied pedagogies and learning parallels. In addition to photography and digital manipulation, I am interested in traditional processes and pushing the boundaries by experimenting with materials; creating abstract pieces with a focus on discovery and learning through doing.
I have been involved in visual arts for over 10 years, working along side print studio technicians, photographers, marketers and educators. I have developed long lasting professional relationships by assisting exhibiting artists and curators in commercial galleries; experiencing the art world from multiple perspectives. Since 2014 I have trained and worked within education, teaching art, photography and coordinating visual arts for post 16 students. In recent years, I have advanced my career as a photographer, designer, artist and an arts educator by developing new partnerships with independent galleries, colleges, universities, local artists and art activists; ensuring my knowledge of the arts, teaching and learning expands to new heights and with a focus on art techniques, leadership and community. It has been important for me to practice as an artist, to teach and to further my education for personal and professional development; the result of a continued passion informing everything I do in work, as an educator and in life. Since this time, I have continued both art and design work and teaching through my own companies Vision & You LTD and Vision & Us CIC. My latest project, new to 2022, is the "By Th Way" artist network, with a focus on the arts and artist representation.

This part of the Vision group is all about art education; learning through art, with art, about art and learning because of art. Vision & Us brings together our small team of artist teachers, safeguarding and wellbeing staff and you; the community. We are a not-for-profit, community interest company running workshops aimed at children and young adults. We specialise in photography, art, graphics and design, including traditional, digital and contemporary processes.
The idea for Vision & Us came about after acquiring extensive knowledge of statistics relating to under achieving children of disadvantage and ethnic minority communities. Our vision is to work towards breaking the cycle of disadvantage and the stigma attached to school exclusion and social exclusion. Having worked in secondary school settings, we know learning doesn't stop at the school gate; neither does curiosity, imagination or creation. Vision & Us provide safe learning spaces, where students can learn at their own pace, away from assessment criteria.
