About me
Challenge led, solution focused with an expert eye for detail. Confident communicating with all levels and areas of business, with the ability to sell ideas in order to gain support from peers. The consumers needs are my primary driver; my curious nature leads me to instinctively analyse feedback and build on the commerciality of a brand along with focusing on a clear strategy.
Work history
    Assistant Buyer
Transferable Skills •Developing the brands strategy- Develop strategy through extensive market research including focus groups, product focus meetings, competitor activity and missed opportunities • Plan budget for season- Using BI to analyse sales history in order to forecast for next season. Buy product accordingly to when peak sales were the previous year. • Launch of new HOF Customer Segmentation- Involved in initial focus groups looking into customer base of HOF and how they could be segmented by their individual needs. Working closely with the CRM team to analyse sales data from insight reports specifically looking for customer activity/search results month by month •BI data analysis- use market data to ensure each store receives tailored stock related to their customer segmentation; maximise profitability through improved sales •Bi yearly budget £11mil; responsible for building a strategy outlining spend vs how it would improve sales •Strong inter departmental skills at all levels- press, marketing, photography, branding •Confident presenter with the ability to think on feet •Excellent time management- confident working to many deadlines with tight timescales •Rolling out briefs to suppliers in UK and abroad- ensuring they understand the brand identity and direction •Use initiative to problem solve •Confident managing junior team members- ensuring to develop and coach whilst setting clear objectives Work Experience May 2012- Present House of Fraser Head Office- Assistant Buyer Self- Initiated Projects •Used Google Adwords to boost product SEO for my department- developed a 'Buzzword' document for team to use when writing web product descriptions in order to boost their SEO, in turn improving sales. •Driving projects to cover missed opportunities on web- improved workwear sales by 41% (£12k) vs LW by looking at ways to improve the work wear range on the web. Used analysis of a web report detailing the most searched product month by month leading me to notice that customers search the term 'suits' more times in August that any other month. There was no workwear focus in August in the Marketing Calendar; I pushed back to the web team, leading to the launch of a 'Back to School/Work' web focus including customer mailers and content on the HoF Home Page. Key Achievements •Completed ‘The Gap Partnership- Complete Skilled Negotiator’ course- develops the psychology and strategy behind negotiations which in turn improves profitability and builds beneficial relationships •Identified a struggling region for the department, solely developed a Training Pack for the Womenswear Managers to help boost sales through increased product knowledge. Set targets and incentives; followed up with weekly store calls to monitor progress. Over 10 weeks, sales improved weekly to -20% LY vs -3%.
