I was born in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1996. After graduating high school,
I spent a couple of years abroad working various jobs like teaching Japanese kids how to ski or looking after chickens in New Zealand. My travels sparked my interest in street photography and documentary film making. Back in Germany, I started directing and editing documentaries for a local TV channel. Since 2019 I have been studying film directing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, deepening my understanding of documentary film making whilst falling in love with fictional story-telling.

- KANDAKAI am the cofounder of kandaka.blog and function as the supervisor of the section "captured". About Kandaka: "We are constantly surrounded by a fog that pollutes and numbs our minds, our hearts and our bodies. This fog is fuelled by a feeling of increasing helplessness in a world in which inequality, violence and insecurity are becoming more apparent day by day.
