About me
Third year fashion design student at Kingston School of Art - having just finished my year out in Industry during the pandemic, and having had the opportunity to work in many different areas of interest to me (lingerie, menswear, and contour), I am now preparing for my final collection come September 2021! My interests in design lie in the complications of female complexity, the way our internal monologues link to our bodies, and the relationships we have with other women. This is much inspired by the works of great female authors such as Anais Nin, Virginia Woolf and Daphne Du Maurier, as it is by the voyeuristic works of Miroslav Tichy. At the moment, I am trying to focus on collecting ideas for my final collection, but am really interested in gaining interest in the styling and photography areas of the fashion industry.
Projects
  • 'Restless Women' - LOOKBOOK
'Restless Women' - LOOKBOOKA couple of selected images from my lookbook produced for my final collection project, titled 'Restless Women'. I was lucky to work with such a great team for the shoot who completely understood my vision and helped me fulfil it! Photography - Laura Spencer (@laurajsfoto) Stylist - Cordelia (@andcordeliadid) Models - Sarah (@sarah_haly) and Isabella (@Isabellakeell)
  • Restless Women - Playing Cards
Restless Women - Playing CardsA collaborative project following on from my final collection titled 'Restless Women' which I completed earlier this year. The project focused on the transitory nature of female identity and its involvement with memory, time, nature and the female body. As reference points within my research I looked at the works of artists, authors, designers and female creatives to endeavour to understand the female lived experience: Ana Mendieta, Leonor Fini, Francesca Woodman, Anais Nin, and Sonia Rykiel t

Although a short internship to assist with tasks in the run up to the shoot for their 2021 collection, my experience at MMRMS is undoubtedly one of the best internships I completed during my year out in industry. While allowing me to learn in a more hands-on fashion the world of tailoring, and also giving me a chance to sample working with menswear garments, MMRMS provided an incredible platform for widening my outlook on design and how collections should be created. Working one on one with Tommy was an eye opening experience into how his creative process works, and I truly feel like my time at MMRMS incredibly progressed my own creative attitudes and openness to pushing myself in the smaller details of fashion; in the quality, fabrication and time taken to develop each garment.

Working as a studio Intern, I assisted with all parts of help within the studio - preparing garments fo stylists, sourcing materials and manufacturers, helping liaise with various models/photographers. I also helped with the patterns, spec pacs and line sheets/costing. I also assisted on the AW21 Shoot which was an eye-opening experience into how much preparation goes into enabling it is going to be a time efficient event!
