I headed up the action team for the Big Sustainability Summit, designed to create a roadmap following the dissolution of the Sustainable Development Commission. My first communications role: using my previous experience and learning new skills. Specialising in corporate PR, social media and impact evaluation. My greatest achievements were delivering a 'Green Barometer' on changing attitudes to sustainability in the construction sector and managing the release of wind turbine test results via an exclusive piece on BBC News. I was also involved in sending two freezing models down the Thames in a bath to promote bath sharing and sold in pictures of green ambassador Lucy Pinder with our very own 'green doctor' (the only time the EST has got the front of the Star to my knowledge). I developed the online strategy for the Energy Saving Trust, using Twitter and Facebook to engage previously neglected audiences. The Energy Saving Trust Twitter feed was recently voted one of the most influential feeds in the energy efficiency sector. In addition, I co-ordinated our national network of volunteer ‘green ambassadors’ including the production of their monthly newsletter and monitoring their online forum.
