About me
I am currently studying for my MA in Writing at the Royal College of Art — with a focus on writing about bodies, illness, clothing, and the post-digital. I have worked on freelance writing projects, transcriptions, and as a gallery assistant alongside my studies. I have also recently co-edited several issues of the Royal College of Art student newspaper — the Pluralist. This has included working with designers, copy-editing, proof-reading, liaising with contributors, and other editorial tasks. Last year I project managed our class publication NOIT5:bodies as in buildings which was produced in collaboration with designer Emily Schofield and Flat Time House Peckham. This involved managing ideas from the very conception of the publication, editing, and printing right through to organising stockists such as Koenig books, Tenderbooks, Camden Arts Centre, and Magculture. My studies at the Royal College of Art have refined my writing craft and I have also developed my interests in printed matter, literary publications, and radical printed matter. I previously worked as a creative producer, communications manager, and personal assistant at the London based sustainable clothing brand Phoebe English. I managed sales, show production, liaising with public relations, and all outward facing communications. Over the course of the time I worked at Phoebe English I produced several shows for London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Mens, studio based events focusing on sustainability, a performative collaboration with Grand Marnier drinks based at the Mandrake Hotel, and the designer’s Fashion in Motion retrospective at the V&A — which was a ‘live’ event with over 40 models and various performances. I completed my undergraduate degree in Fashion Journalism at Central Saint Martins which I graduated from with first-class honours. In my final year of study, I was awarded the Felicity Green scholarship. I also partook in a placement year where I completed several different placements in London and Paris at various studios — Vestoj Journal, AnOther Magazine, Pundersons Gardens, alongside others such as archiving work and press relations. The course had a focus on excellent communication, research and writing skills with an exploration of what writing means today in a digital and print landscape. I also collaborated with a vast range of other students with differing practices whilst at Central Saint Martins which I found really stimulating. I am competent with Microsoft Office, intermediate knowledge of Adobe Indesign & Premiere and have Basic Photoshop skills. I am a multitasker and am adept at working to tight deadlines. My background in creative production means that I am highly organised and have worked on multiple creative projects simultaneously.
