I believe traditional craftsmanship is one of the last tangible relationships we have with our cultural heritage. My relationship with design is to understand and apply traditional techniques so that they are brought into a contemporary context in relation with innovative materials and practices. Considering myself a Storyteller, I employ a thoughtful approach to design which begins with a particular historical reference point and is lead though research and concepts so that a functional and utilitarian product is produced. It is important that the specific values of craftsmanship are withhold through a rejuvenated approach to aesthetics, materials and techniques.
