About me

Harshini J. Karunaratne (she/they) is a Sri Lankan-Peruvian digital artist and projection designer based between Berlin, London and Dubai. Harshini is passionate about the intersection of moving images and performance, having graduated with a BA (Hons) in Film & New Media and Theater at New York University Abu Dhabi in 2018. In 2022, Harshini completed their Masters in New Media Design in Berlin. In their work, Harshini explores themes relating to climate change, gender, the body, and afterlife. Harshini has had her work shown in Germany, Peru, Italy, Japan, UAE, Greece, as well as at FILE Festival in Brazil, Burning Man in the US, Art Dubai. They are also the founder and co-curator of MANIFEST:IO, a symposium for new media and electronic art that launched in Berlin in February 2023.
