I was born in a tiny village in the UK, where the hovercraft was invented and moved to Barcelona in 2009, where I am now based. My career follows a colourful journey from working in optics to graduating in Psychology, working in mental health and homeless services, VJing to Graphic Design. I have a long-term passion for musical projects.
I work as a freelance graphic designer and audiovisual artist.
VJing
In 2012 I started working under the artistic name VJ AYL and am currently resident at Sala Apolo, where I make my mark with multi-coloured live visual performances under the artistic name, VJ AYL.
The inspiration for VJ AYL comes from a Cosmocomic story, ‘Senze Colori,’ written by Italo Calvino, which describes how the world was before the existence of colour. It tells the story of how the character Ayl brings ‘varicoloured sumptuousness’ to an otherwise grey world. Ayl was born out of deep love for both music and visual art forms and experiments with video mixing and 3D graphics to explore the relationship between image and sound.

- David Bowie – DualityThe brief was to design coordinated elements for a CD release by David Bowie. All written content was provided by the client. I chose to generate the graphic content manually using acrylic paint, which I then digitalised for reproduction. The concept behind the design was to represent the ambiguity that is Bowie through images, using colours from his perhaps most iconic album cover, 'Aladdin Sane.' The inspiration for the final shape of the product also came from his makeup. The idea continues i
