About me

Hello! I'm an illustrator/creative with a love of creating and organising things, in life and design. I work part time freelance and part time for an arts charity who promote visual literacy for all. I enjoy the mix of zealous creative design work and the social aspects of encouraging others to explore their artistic side at workshops and events. Currently I am looking to join an in-house friendly & energetic creative team in a permanent position.

Work history

Designer & Projects Assistant

The Campaign for Drawing

Feb 2014
  • As sole designer for the arts charity I produce design, illustration, and general visual imagery required for print and online, from promotional material to events. This covers the main website, its blogs, the online shop and all print and online publicity material. I also assist in production of and at events ranging from workshops to exhibitions. As a member of a small team I regularly take on a range of jobs outside of design work such as social media, photography, liaising with our contacts, leading workshops, sourcing equipment and materials, and office errands etc.

Loughborough University

Aug 2010 - May 2013
  • (The current Graphic Design & Illustration course at Loughborough University was formally two courses under 'Visual Communication'). Passed with First Class Hons. I studied observational drawing, life drawing, animation & animation practice, illustration, visual research, visual culture, and dissertation. I gained knowledge of design & layout, producing work to answer a brief with a strong concept base, meeting clients needs, awareness of audience, freelance & in-house roles in industry, teaching & mentoring younger students, teamwork and leadership as student rep for 3 years).

BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art Design

Loughborough University

Aug 2009 - Jun 2010
  • Passed with Distinction.

Shortlisted for AOI Serco Prize for Illustration

  • Shortlisted and exhibited as one of 50 at the London Transport Museum. Selected from thousands of entries to design a poster following the theme 'London Stories'. Inspired by the history of Covent Garden, I imagined a fictional tale of cheeky nuns in heist-esque fashion stealing the N from Covent Garden's original name.

Royal Parks Half Marathon for Mind UK

  • Advocating the work of mental health charity Mind UK featuring in blogs and social media. In support of the charity I ran and completed the Royal Parks Half Marathon. (Finished at a respectable 2:21!)

Secret 7 Vinyl Artwork Winner

  • My artwork for Secret 7 and Art Against Knives was selected as one of the winning entries for 2013. I designed vinyl artwork for a participating music artist, Jessie Ware, based on her song 'Still Love Me'. Artwork was produced as a one-off piece, exhibited and sold in aid of charity Art Against Knives at Mother, London.

Winsor & Newton Ink Competition Runner Up

  • Won one of ten runner up places in the Winsor and Newton Competition to design artwork for their new Ink Set. Exhibited at the Griffin Gallery, London.
