About me

I am a hardworking 3rd year University student, and am seeking a creative graduate opportunity. I have gained experience in researching, writing and editing content whilst being Music Editor for my University publication, as well as responsibility in magazine design, for which I am trained in Photoshop and InDesign. I am now seeking a new challenge to expand on my previous experience and learn new skills to progress into the working world.

• TripToTori EP LaunchTripToTori are an engaging and oh-so-beautiful 5 piece indie band, making music that makes you melt. The launch will take place in Phoenix, Exeter. (Date as of yet undecided) Exeposé Music are hosting this event, planning down to a T to make sure everything goes without a hitch.

After working my way up from a regular contributor, then music columnist in my first two years at University, I am now the music editor for my student publication, which involves a constant liaising with PR companies to organise interviews, press passes and album reviews to delegate to our extensive team of writers, and researching and creating interesting and engaging content for fortnightly issues, alongside editing articles and managing the section’s social media accounts. I am also responsible for Print design for Music's section of the newspaper on a fortnightly basis. This position so far has given me a brief insight into the industry, and has shaped me to seek new opportunities in a similar area.

After taking the initiative of emailing the secretary, I undertook work experience at NME. My role included transcribing interviews, researching and writing news content, and brainstorming ideas for online features. I took it upon myself to network with as many people as possible during this opportunity, and from this gained extensive feedback from the Editor in Chief and staff writers about my written content.

I am currently in my third year of study at Exeter University, one of the top Universities in the UK and part of the Russel Group. During my time here I have undertaken extensive literary research for my studies, alongside academic writing for essays and exams. I have received a 2:1 in my first two years (including a 1st in a classical Latin module), and am expecting to achieve a high 2:1 - 1st when I graduate this summer. Parallel to academia I have become integrated in the student newspaper, Exeposé, been part of Campus Bands society, playing guitar in a band at various gigs around the city, and am currently the social media co-ordinator for a start-up festival, Poltimore, this coming May.
