A two week intensive voluntary position covering all aspects of archives, manuscripts and rare books. Specifically, outreach research of the collections focused on specialist historical topics, database checking, manuscript and rare book handling, data input, archives cataloguing, social media strategy, oral history transcription – contribution to Heritage Lottery Fund oral history project, and acquiring knowledge of all aspects of a Special Collections department, particularly conservation, archiving, exhibitions, and digitisation processes.
