Hi there! My name is Helena. I’m a photographer and art director, specialising in portraits and fashion.
I studied documentary photography and photojournalism at the University of the Arts London, where I graduated with honours in 2014. Since then I have gone on to work across various fields of photography, including food, interiors, lifestyle, weddings, and travel photography. I co-founded a content marketing agency, moved to Melbourne, and set up Newfound Magazine - a digital publication focused on unconventional travel, people and experiences.
In recent years I’ve taken up natural portrait and fashion photography, creating images that are candid, real and genuine.
My background in documentary photography shows in all the work I create, and I aim for beautiful images that represent my subject in a natural and authentic way.
Having grown up in the countryside and then lived in big cities for the last 8 years, I have a big appreciation for both, and love shooting in nature settings as well as cityscapes. Both have their time and place.
I love working with people who have a similar style and mindset, and who trust my creative guidance and process to bring their vision to life. My clients are down-to-earth, genuine and kind people who can have a laugh, and yet are fierce business leaders with a clear mission and goal.
When working with clients I go through a process to establish a focused vision and vibe for the shoot, and to make sure we are on the same page. I always take the time to fully understand my client’s brand and aesthetics, and to incorporate that knowledge when planning and doing the shoot.
As far as personal interests go, I’m passionate about good food and nutrition, natural and mindful living, fitness and holistic health, and sustainability.
I’m also a Pinterest influencer with over 700K followers, and love promoting my clients’ work on there.
