About me
Henrietta Dent is a structural textile designer who avidly collects everyday materials and objects, which influence how she perceives the overlooked mismatched impressions of the world around her. Her conscious design method is inspired by thoughtfully sourced materials from which she crafts and constructs: a journey of transformation through processing techniques. This approach developed during the final year of her BA, when she noticed waste yarn on the floor and collected second-hand leftovers to weave with. Additionally, taking part in beach and river clean-ups in Sri Lanka has further inspired how she uses waste. Henrietta has been awarded the Zoffany Visual Arts Award, received sponsorship from the Coats Foundation Trust, Gainsborough Silk Weaving and Reiss, and participated in the Bio-Inspired Textiles research programme.

As a fashion and textile consultant, duties included organising supplies, placing orders and creating product displays. I engaged with and supported customers to ensure that successful project specifications were met with the suitable fabric. Technical knowledge of yarn and material was vital.
