As a publicity assistant for Prosper PR, I am involved in the day to day management of their 40 clients. This involves managing any media schedules, dressing, collating coverage, managing photo shoots, events and securing coverage for their upcoming projects.
I interviewed, researched and wrote both the Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice tour brochures. This included short interviews with all of the touring stars (Abbey Clancy, Mark Benton, Deborah Meaden, Joe Pasquale, Beth Tweddle, Bonnie Langford), alongside introductory pieces for the tour.
As a studio manager my responsibilities included day-to-daymanagement of the studio, alongside production of various print projects, and photo shoots for luxury editorial. I managed daily work schedules, studio schedules, and ensured a manageable workflow for the team. Alongside this I managed all budgets, invoicing and accounts.
As an Events Manager for Esquire my responsibilities included securing drinks, goodie bag and car sponsors, A-list celebrity guests, event spaces, collating and sending invites and running celebrity arrivals. Past events I have worked on include London Collections: Men with Jimmy Choo, DKNY and Johnnie Walker, the launch of their Big Black Book and their BAFTA/EE and Summer parties. I then help to manage post-press, contracts, social media and online coverage. I continued to contribute to Esquire Online.
Assisting with the general running of the Elle Style Awards I was looking after guest lists, seating plans and VIP guests.
With all internships I worked closely with editorial teams to type transcripts, research articles, interview people and generally help around the office. At Vice, Sabotage Times and New Statesman I pitched and wrote various pieces for their websites including an opinion piece on a Richard Dawkins talk, a story from a Gaza strip homeowner and reviews on various bars and restaurants. I also wrote for a New Statesman guest edit on why young people are no longer represented within politics.
As Editor of Arts London News I was responsible for every printed issue. I planned and executed each one with deputy editors to create a well-rounded newspaper. From features on multiculturalism, interviews with Russell Brand, and commissioned illustrations from other departments, our issues were extremely diverse. I then spent time as a Production Manager, which involved heavy use of InDesign, managing workflow and layout teams, and sending final proofs.
I helped to create a magazine entirely from scratch for the children of Great Ormond Street Hospital, working alongside Bauer Media. I sourced and wrote interviews with celebrities such as Katy Perry, Russell Brand, JLS, Matt Lucas and McFly and helped with the organisation of the launch.
I worked with the company as a freelance photographer on video shoots, live shows and product launches for their artists.
