Assistant to Choreographer

Brighton Fashion Week

May 2011 - May 2012
  • ? In March of 2011, I contacted the director and founder of Brighton Fashion Week to ask her if I could volunteer with the event. Based on my experience and passion I was asked to assist the head of the Creative Team ? My responsibilities included event planning and research, risk assessment, brainstorming ideas for prizes and approaching shops//bars/restaurants that could be potential sponsors for the shows – all of which I did successfully. ? During the event itself, I managed a lot of the production, including all the timing and cues during the dress rehearsals, ensuring that everything ran perfectly and smoothly for the real shows. I was also the only contact for the lighting and music team; running and their cues and managing any issues that arose. ? I was originally only assigned to work for 2 days, but was requested back by my supervisor for the full term of Brighton Fashion Week due to my capability and confidence in what was demanded of me, especially when put under the pressure of the live shows.
