About me

I am confident, ambitious, determined and passionate about the impact of big business on fashion entrepreneurs. I have had the privilege of travelling and living in Africa, first in Kenya, then Tunisia, now spending time in South Africa, having seen and experienced its uniqueness in culture, history, and now huge opportunity when it comes to creative talent. At a relatively young age, I have had the confidence to want to seek opportunities, even living by myself in order to work and learn. I have been lucky enough to work for a number of different firms recently as well as creating a website of my own, demonstrating my purposeful and hard-working attitude. The variety of my work experience has allowed me to appreciate the importance of the various roles I have spent the last 3 years investigating the concept of fashion entrepreneurship, between micro-scale (fashion designers) and large-scale businesses (conglomerates), in order to understand the nature of this relationship and its implications on the creativity/business tension that is required to succeed in the global fashion industry. I have always wanted to support designers by providing the business background that I felt was lacking in fashion entrepreneurship; managing the balance of creative freedom while also trying to make a brand My interest in the global fashion industry has given me the drive to write extensively as a result of my studying this industry for over 3 years at London College of Fashion. I have been writing for a website I have designed in order to show my writing to a wider audience, being a portfolio for skillset in my various interests across this nuanced industry.

I am currently working for a sustainable luxury knitwear brand in Johannesburg as we expand into global territories. In this role, I attend PR events representing the brand to understand and get to grips with the creative and fashion sphere in the African Continent. A key part of my role is project management and strategy as we activate runway shows and new stores globally, as well as working in model casting for our various events. I assist in providing a line of communication between designers, content, social media and marketing in order to execute strategy that is consistent across the company. Additionally, I organise pitch decks for sponsorships and marketing strategy in order to create an effective roll out while writing comprehensive timelines for the brand, copy for social media and newsletters as well as working on an in-house publication and coffee table book.
