Throughout my time in pre-production, I was given multiple tasks due to my Adobe and software skills. Due to my architectural education, I able to act as a draughtsperson to the art director and production designer. Being able to talk with the contractors about time schedules and key instructions needed from the art director on the project. Building a space to inhabit from a script to create the story allows a holistic approach to the construction process. Additionally, my understanding of what information a contractor need has greatened such as instructions on timber measurements and supply for the set. Although there are differences between building for the film industry and the built environment, both create meaning spaces for individuals and can aid each other for the future of designers.

It was a great opportunity to learn more about the changes that need to be made in the Built Environment and the design industry. Additionally, how we can achieve this through the Zero Carbon Framework. This course provided a great influence on new designers which choices they make will shape our future projects. How they require change in design processes to achieve Zero Carbon emissions to overall achieve a healthier environment.
