About me
I am a freelance writer with experience in both journalism and screenwriting. My articles have featured in Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, The Idler, SUITCASE magazine, Some Good Ideas, Lebanon Traveler, The Lady, Quarterlife, Britain magazine, This England and more. And I'm currently writing a feature-length rom-com film for a Canadian production company. I have been a features writer and cryptic crossword setter at The Lady magazine, a contributor on an upcoming BBC documentary with Gillian Wearing, an idea I pitched made it onto the Jeremy Vine Show after four days' experience and a ghost- and copywriter and content creator for an American travel blog. I am a graduate in Modern Languages from Durham University and a postgraduate from King's College London in English Literature. Whilst at university, I produced and presented my own Arts radio show, 'The Arts Show with Imogen Bole', at Surrey Hills Community Radio where I interview a local guest each show and run arts-themed features. I have had experience at BBC Radio 2 with Jeremy Vine, Vanity Fair, Jackie Radio, Eagle Radio, and Metro Radio in order to gain an alternative insight into the field of journalism. After completing my Master’s I decided I wanted to get into screenwriting. Although the start of my screenwriting career took a punch to the face by a bat in Wuhan, I managed to use the time in lockdown to develop my writing and my ideas whilst working as a freelance arts and travel writer, writing long articles for zero pounds. Then, I moved to London in pursuit of legal tender. I now work at a film and photography studio in Angel (in exchange for money) to pursue the screenwriting dream. Other than that, I wear a lot of burgundy, read second-hand booms for the smell, walk long distances for no reason, listen to wilfully pretentious audiobooks, and prefer limes to lemons - always.
