About me
I am currently undertaking a Masters in Material and Visual Culture in UCL from which I will graduate in November 2016. I expect to finish with a first class honours degree. I graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in October 2015. I received a 2.1 BA in the History of Art and Architecture with Ancient History and Archaeology. In the summer of 2013 I worked as a gallery intern in McCaffrey Fine Art in New York. My responsibilities varied from day to day from general office management to art handling projects and shipment orders. While I was there the team was preparing to open a second, larger premise in Chelsea. I was the only intern they took on during the summer and was kept very busy for the duration of my time there. Whilst working in New York I learnt how to use Artsystems Pro to manage shipments and sales, it became apparent that I could quickly learn any similar database programmes. I was also one of the founding members of a student-run startup art magazine in Trinity College. During my final year I held the position of web editor meaning I was in charge of the magazine’s website as well as all the social media. Although most of my experience is in the art industry I am hoping to expand in to Documentary filming and production. I would love to be involved in the research side of documentary film. As part of my Masters programme I have completed a module in the History and Aesthetics of Documentary Film and Practical Documentary Filmmaking. These modules have taught me to shoot and edit my own films using a Canon HD XF100 and Premiere Pro CC. I am currently editing a film for my end of year project, a 15-minute short documentary about an up and coming London DJ, Ralph Hardy. Based on the success of my written work in these modules I have also been asked to write for this year’s Open City Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from 21 – 26 of June. I am looking for work experience in Art Galleries or the Documentary film profession and would relish any opportunity expand my knowledge and understand the industry more. I consistently have ideas for large-scale productions and I hope in the future I will be able to develop these further. I pride myself on being very hard working and a fast learner. I commit myself fully to every task thrown at me, whether big or small. I am friendly and attentive and so love working with people. All of my experience in customer services has given me the ability to interact with clients politely and efficiently. Working in restaurants has made me an excellent multi-tasker and I am good at working under pressure. I feel I could be a valuable member to any team and would delight in any position you may be able to offer me.
