'Hands: Exploring Memory & Identity'For this collection, I explored the concepts of identity and memory, abstractly represented through the motif of hands. The desire to leave behind a handprint to show we were here is a “shared creative impulse that transcends time and culture” (Heard Museum, 2018). I did a three week internship focusing on historical preservation work in textiles and pottery at Standen House and Gardens, a National Trust property in East Sussex. I worked as an assistant to the house manager and conservation team, filling out necessary paperwork and examining and condition reporting some of the objects in the house. I also spent time as a guide to groups of 15 people on the property, explaining the history of certain rooms and details of the objects within them.

     - Farnham, United Kingdom
I recently graduated from UCA with a Bachelor's in Textiles for Fashion & Interiors, where I specialised in weaving. The course was a highly hands-on and focused on technical skills, so I have lots of experience with using industrial textile equipment and production processes, as well as working on a variety of manual and mechanised floor and table looms.

I graduated with a Distinction from this year long Foundation diploma course, after choosing to specialise in the Fashion & Textiles pathway. My final collection was centred around feminist themes and exploring the 'Maiden/Hag' representations of women when associated with textiles in literature, specifically oral history and fairytale folklore.
