As the Social Media Agent for Primark I was responsible for driving customer engagement through B2C marketing using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Doing this gave me insight into Primark’s community management strategies and allowed me to expand my own skills by ‘thinking outside the box’ and coming up with creative strategies to maximise engagement online and ultimately contribute towards Primark’s ROI. As the Team Leader I now manage a team of 30. I create social media training on online engagement, deal with staff reviews, staff conflicts and correspond with Primark’s PR, Ethical and Communications teams by presenting them with daily social media reports. This has helped me improve my organisation skills, communication skills and I now know how to analyse data to set targets to improve ROI. Being a team leader means I am not only looking at the standards of B2C marketing strategies but also B2B as I continuously maintain happy working relationships with Primark’s PR and Communications teams.
