I work full time in fashion merchandising for a well known high-street brand. Alongside this I work part time in freelance marketing. I undertake a variety of projects under the umbrella of brand management from styling to copywriting and social media management.
As a Merchandising assistant in a core product team at Topshop I am involved at every stage of range planning, from development to delivery. Through my time at Topshop I have developed core planning and organisational skills which allow me to manage several key aspects of a large product area. I have been exposed to working with large international suppliers which has allowed me to develop my planning skills on an international scale.
Renelle Pettitt Ltd. is a start-up textile design and interiors brand. As part of the small team at R.P Ltd. I undertake social strategy management on various social media platforms, organising shoots for key product events and ensuring that the brand promotes a unified strategy on all fronts.
As a freelance Marketing advisor I work within a variety of industries, including the arts and retail. I advise on a multitude of projects in order that the client can boost their brand presence. This may involve creating physical marketing materials, copywriting, event organisation etc.
Whilst at the Sofa & Chair I worked on the soft furnishings team, predominantly working on Cushions & Throws. I was able to create luxury cushion collections allowing me the opportunity to work with and develop relationships with international fabric houses as well as European mills. Working as part of a team that involved both range development as well as branded buying allowed me to develop a wide range of skills.
In my initial ventures following graduation I worked as part of the PR team at Joy the Store. Joy incorporates a blend of fashion and homeware brands meaning I was exposed to a vast range of press titles. Whilst at Joy I was responsible for sourcing editorial leads, drafting press releases and managing the sample and photographic databases, amongst many other accountabilities.
During my degree I actively sought out an internship at Snow PR, to ensure I developed the right skills whilst studying. At Snow I was able to attend press days and industry events as well as concreting my copywriting skills through regular press releases and mail outs. I was also involved in hosting stylists and advising on key pieces for trends.
2:1 in Sociology BA, my degree was tailored towards the study of political economy and the economic consumer.
